Part of Humaneness PerformanceNet: Script Analysis authors a performance from source material; Performance Annotation describes recorded or generated scenes. Shared taxonomies support filtering, generation and diverse data selection.
Appendix I / Reader’s guide
Use the label as a retrieval aid. The annotation still needs to say what happened, when it happened, who produced it and how certain the attribution is.
A chuckle, a gasp or a sustained hum can be described acoustically without proving amusement, fear or a soothing intention. Several source labels include an emotional, physiological or causal interpretation. Their wording is retained for reference, not upgraded into a diagnosis or a verified mechanism.
| Record | Plain-language question |
|---|---|
| Time interval | Where does the event begin and end? Is the ending observable? |
| Attribution | Which person or source produced it? Could it be off-screen, background sound or a prop? |
| Audible form | What was heard: rhythm, duration, pitch, intensity, breath or interruption? |
| Context | What is established by the scene or script, and what is only interpreted? |
| Confidence | How securely can the event and its source be identified? |
SFW is the source’s “safe for work” edition label. The supplied reference lists 180 leaves. It mentions a 197-leaf extended inventory and a different public 82-label edition; those alternative inventories are not reproduced here. The 14 group headings and numbers such as Event 001 / 180 are navigation added for this reading edition. They are not source taxonomy IDs.
The inherited title “non-speech” includes interjections, fillers, singing and some signal or instrument sounds. Preserve that source scope when comparing systems; a label alone does not establish a speech/non-speech decision.
Authorship and observation connect through evidence. An Script Analysis System prompt may request “a held-back sob.” PerformanceNet records the audible interruption, breath and timing, then keeps any interpretation of restraint separate.
