Humaneness PerformanceNet · Shared taxonomy library

The Humaneness Script Analysis System authors performance inputs from source material. The Humaneness Performance Annotation System describes generated or recorded performance. Shared taxonomies connect prompting, annotation, representation and data selection.

Reader’s guide

Keep feeling, expression and interpretation separate

EmoNet names forty emotions and states in this reference system. It is a vocabulary, not a claim that a model can reliably read an inner state from a face, voice or body.

UseHow to record it
Authored conditionThe script or prompt may establish what a fictional character experiences, with a source, interval and target.
Expression targetSpecify whether that state should be freely expressed or held, and how prominent it is meant to be. Held expression can coexist with strong authored feeling.
Observed readingDescribe the audible or visible evidence first. An emotion label is then an interpretation with context and confidence; the surface does not prove a private condition.

Four intensities, two modes

Intensity 1 means trace, 2 moderate, 3 strong and 4 extreme. These are requested prominence levels in a scene, not calibrated probabilities or transformed model scores. Expression mode is either FREE (freely expressed) or HELD (held expression). The complete inventory has 40 × 4 × 2 = 320 cells.

EMO-FEA-I3-HELD names the emotion/state vocabulary (EMO), Fear (FEA), strong requested intensity (I3) and held expression (HELD). It does not itself say whether this is an authored target or an observer’s interpretation; store that role separately.

One vocabulary across the workflow

In the Humaneness Script Analysis System, source material informs Character Makeup, scene obligations including Emotional obligations, and ordered Acting Beats with one Experience Chunk each. The resulting prompt guides an AI actor to generate audio or audio with video. In the Humaneness Performance Annotation System, an observer describes the resulting performance, or a reference recording, using available evidence.

Keep requested targets, observed labels and observer judgments in separate fields. Their shared vocabulary supports prompt construction, searchable annotation, model representations and diverse data selection. A downstream reward model needs a declared target, task and calibration; the taxonomy alone supplies neither a trained model nor a universal quality score.

Pair these fields with the PerformanceNet Situation Taxonomy when selecting scene contexts. A taxonomy coordinate does not establish that a recording exists or that the intended combination has been achieved.

Read the entry as a choice of possibilities

The definition states the meaning; the dramatic circumstance makes it playable; possible manifestations illustrate ways it could appear; the distinction separates nearby labels. Manifestations are neither necessary nor sufficient diagnostic signs. This vocabulary also contains physical and altered states; membership does not imply that every label is a basic emotion.

The four groups retain source order for navigation. They introduce no new psychological classification. The structured registry contains all definitions, distinctions and cell identifiers. Appendix C remains the corresponding source reference.

Source and reuse notes

All forty labels, definitions, circumstances, manifestation examples, distinctions and 320 cell identifiers reproduce Appendix C of the supplied PerformanceNet master reference, edition 3.1. “EmoNet Taxonomy” is their first-class name within Humaneness PerformanceNet; this reorganization adds navigation and usage explanations without changing their meanings.

Keep source attribution and authored-versus-observed roles when using this vocabulary for generation, annotation, filtering, model encoding or downstream reward targets. The illustrated possibilities remain examples; they are not a universal mapping from feelings to visible or audible behavior.
